Flying on a commerical airlines at a altitude?

flying at that altitude keep commercial airliners out of most of the bad weather at the lower altitudes. Also there are agreed upon "lanes" for aircraft to keep planes from smacking into each other. Lower altitudes are generally for smaller planes. Yeah it still takes tons of fuel at those altitudes. And yes they do reserve the lanes for the flight well before hand.
