Why does Lauren Conrad....?

Everyone says Lauren Conrad is a role model to young adults. I believe this so because I look up to her. And there comes a time when I'm like Wow. I would kill to be Lauren Conrad. I'm pretty sure many girls would. It's just I don't understand how one person can become famous for basically nothing. I know her family is very wealthy, but if you think about anyone can be poor and find many ways to become famous. People say she only got the job at Teen Vogue etc..because she was part of The Hills. To my understanding how can someone so little become so famous. I know she was off of Laguna Beach and that's probably how. But, it just doesn't make any sence to me. What do you think?
